Hi, Ross here to give you a quick update on what’s coming soon to the Tuxxedo Product line.

Firstly Beta 1 of the Engine, the core of all Tuxxedo’s products, is nearly cmpleted - it hasn’t beeen fully bugtested yet but there isn’t a lot left to do on it to complete the Beta 1 specifications. Once this is built we can build applications for it.

I recently played about with an installation suite, based on an Alpha version of the engine, and I have to say it’s very slick. It works pretty much like a standard Windows installation - except with some initial configuration setup for database handlers. It definitely means there’ll be no “edit this file, upload” business!

I started work on a test component for the engine yesterday - a template code parser - which should make customising your website pretty easy. In comparison to the Wordpress template system there’s no PHP involved - think HTML tags like:

Hi <variable type="var">USER_DISPLAY_NAME</variable>,
today is the <variable type="special">DATE_DAY_NUM</variable>
of <variable type="special">DATE_MONTH_NAME</variable>.
You are currently using<variable type="const">APPLICATION_NAME</variable>

The first Tuxxedo podcast was recorded yesterday too (unfortunately without me as I’m mic-less), unfortunately we didn’t plan on Kalle and Emil being drunk ^^
